Did you know this?

The sun-printing process you're using - cyanotype - was invented back in 1842.

What we heart most about this!

  • Five minutes of sunshine is the only ink you need. Build your camera, load your paper, and let science do the printing.

You should try this

Once your animal prints are made, try the same trick with leaves, keys or paperclips laid straight onto the paper in the sun - see what shapes you can capture.

Challenge time

Take on the working iris build and get it opening and closing smoothly. Then test whether a shorter or longer time in the sun changes how sharp your print comes out - and don't forget to rinse your print in some cold water!
